Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR)

Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR)

Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR) is a minimally invasive procedure that is performed inside a patient’s aorta using catheters, which are thin long tubes, to place a stent to reinforce the weak spots.

Surgeons may also refer to this procedure as thoracic endovascular aneurysm repair (TEVAR) or fenestrated endovascular aneurysm repair (FEVAR).

The differences in these procedures are determined by the type of repair that is being discussed.
